78ft Pluckebaum Custom Coastal Cruiser launched in 2000. Commissioned and built for a wealthy industrialist as an Ultimate Live aboard Coastal Motor Yacht with a Master Stateroom. two guest staterooms and three heads. The vessel has had very little use.
Built of Grade 5052 Aluminum , the highest strength alloy of more common non-heat-treatable grades. 5052 has particularly good resistance to marine atmosphere and salt -water corrosion, and is suitable, not only for marine construction, but for a wide variety of aircraft components, including transportation industry parts.
Construction of this yacht took 2-1/2 years and she was launched at Prospect, KY on June, 30, 2000. The cost to build her in 2000 exceeded $1.3 million and according to engineers at Pluckenbaum, the cost to replicate her today would be $3 million.
Powered by Twin Caterpillar 3208TA rated 435hp engines, the vessel is capable of reaching a top speed of 22 knots and a respectable cruise of 18 knots. The engines currently have approximately 250 hours on each since her launch in 2000,which is amazingly low. Auxiliary power is provided from 20kw an 12kw Westerbeke Generators, both with low hours
